The Women Empowerment Cell of Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital has been constituted to promote gender equality, empower women students and staff, and create a safe and supportive institutional environment.
Objectives
- To promote gender equality and women's empowerment within the institution
- To create awareness about women's rights, legal provisions, and available support systems
- To organise workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on issues affecting women
- To provide a safe and supportive environment for women students, faculty, and staff
- To encourage women students to participate in academic, cultural, sports, and leadership activities
- To collaborate with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in addressing gender-based issues
- To celebrate significant national and international days related to women empowerment (International Women's Day, etc.)
Activities & Initiatives
- Annual observance of International Women's Day with guest lectures and panel discussions
- Health awareness camps and free check-ups for women in surrounding communities
- Self-defence training workshops for women students
- Workshops on stress management, mental health, and work-life balance
- Career guidance and mentorship programs for women students
- Awareness sessions on POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) and related legal frameworks
